Urban Watershed Stewardship - What Does it Look Like?

The April 2025 monthly Gallatin Water Collaborative discussion focused on urban watershed stewardship and its implications for different stakeholders within the Collaborative. The discussion was hosted as an open forum with no main presenter. Three questions led our discussion: 1. What does good urban watershed stewardship look like? 2. When is it OK to impact a wetland or watercourse setback? Is it ever? 3. How do we take this discussion and plug into the stormwater facility and wetland UDC updates?

Goals of this session: 

• Share ideas and build a collective understanding of best management practices for urban watershed stewardship.

• Incorporate discussion outcomes into comments and engagement with the City of Bozeman Stormwater Facilities Plan update and Wetland Code update.
