Actions

  • Watercourse Mapping

The Collaborative is working to create an updated map of the many miles of rivers, streams, canals, and ditches that distribute water across the landscape to service rich ecosystems, water users, and recharge the aquifer. Our hope is to develop tools that 1) empower stakeholders to make informed decisions and minimize conflict as our community grows and changes, and 2) inform strategic projects that benefit water users and the environment.

  • Gallatin Drought and Deluge Adaptive Management Plan

The purpose of the Gallatin Drought and Deluge Adaptive Management Plan is to coordinate drought communication and voluntary conservation efforts across the entire Gallatin Watershed and to identify long-term mitigation and response actions that build resilience and effective management during times of drought and deluge.

  • Watercourse Commons Initiative

The Watercourse Commons Initiative includes a set of scientific recommendations for the space streams need to effectively provide the following benefits to our community 1) flood with minimal risk to infrastructure and property, 2) naturally recharge groundwater, 3) provide fish and wildlife habitat, and 4) treat and filter pollution to maintain clean water.
